GEOGRAPHYCAL COORDINATES

We did an exercise about geography .We had to calculate the true distance between two province of Spain using as a reference the length that was in a map an multiplying it by the scale

1:  From Lugo to Salamanca there were 3,1cm, this equals to 498km.
2: From Valladolid to Girona  there were 6,4cm, this equals to 1027km.
3: From  Badajoz to Malaga there were 3,5 cm, this equals 560 km.
4: From Ciudad Real to Huesca there were 5 cm, this equals 800 km.
5: From Girona to Zamora there were 6 cm, this equals 960 km.
6: From Madrid to Barcelona there were 5,9 vm, this equals 949 km.
7: From Cadiz to Teruel there were 6,3 cm, this equals to 1008km

We also did an exercise about locating places by their Geographycal coordinates.

    2: Bilbao: 43,4 North 3 west
    3: Alicante: 38,3 North 0,7 west

Physical and Human Geography

First picture

In this picture you can see an airplane. This is a man-made structure that can fly and allow us to move from a place to another. That is a characteristic of human geography called transport.  Having that in mind this is an example of Human Geography.

Second picture

In my opinion this is an example of Physical Geography. The reasons why I think this is because you can see a natural environment. You can see a volcano in the background and some flora in the bottom of the image. Between them you can see a river. And also because none of them are man-made structures.

Third picture

In the middle of this picture you can see a heiser. This is a natural phenomenon that violently expel hot gases(normally water vapor). You can also see a forest in the background and a flat surface that looks like it has been erode by the heisers. All of the things that I have mentioned are natural structures that the human hasn´t  modify. This is an example of Physical Geography.

Fourth picture

In this picture you can see a classroom. There are some students and a teacher and they are in a man-made structure. You can see through a window in the background pf this image that thee is something that looks like a playground. Due to this in my opinion is Human Geography.

Fifth picture

This picture is a bit special because in my opinion shows how men can modify a natural environment without making any structures. You can see how the grass has been cut and you can also see a some trees . So in my opinion this is a mix of both types of Geography.

Sixth picture

In  this picture you can see a city with really high skyscrapers, an airplane and some boats in a harbour. There is also some water that could be part from a sea or from an ocean. You can only see man-made structures. Due to that this is Physical Geography.

Seventh picture

In this picture you can see a plain that the human has used to make some roads over it. This roads looks like a highway so the plain must be very long. Because of this highway it is used to be able to drive cars through it it is related with a characteristic of Human Geography the transport and it is na example of that type of Geography.

Eighth picture

In the middle of this picture you can see a valley between two mountains. There is also some trees or bushes  on the background and through it. Because everything here is natural and there is not any man-made structures it is an example of Physical Geography .

Ninth picture

In this picture you can see how a dam stops the water's flow. You can see also that without the dam there should be a waterfall. This picture shows a natural environment modify but humans. In my opinion this represents both types of Geography.

Tenth picture

Here we can see a natural environment. There is not any man made structures in the middle and in the foreground but in the background there is something that looks like a village. In the foreground there are only some trees and grass. I think his is mainly an example of Physical Geography.
